I'm helping another forum member local to me in California install his LIs. I worked on them over the weekend for a couple of hours but realized we didn't have all of our ducks in a row, so to speak.
He has a VW GTI with the mondo plastic weave grillwork. Is it best to remove the whole grill to do the cutting, or do it in-place? I have a similar grill but much smaller and different weave type.
The difficult thing about the VW GTI is the slope of the grill, as the mounting brackets have nothing to 'flush' up against. I'm thinking some sort of a plastic shim...
btw, I will let him do the cutting - not my car and not about to screw that up.
