LI alert question???
I know that the Belscort products continue to alert to radar/lidar for 5 or more seconds after they are being targeted. Does the LI stop alerting the moment it is no longer targeted?

Re: LI alert question???
It goes through the "klaxon sound" followed by the voice alert, which plays through to the end even if it's no longer targeted/jamming. If it's still being targeted at the end of the voice alert, the cycle repeats with the klaxon again.
The LED in the power switch gives a better indication of targeting. It flashes while being targeted/jamming, and stops flashing when no longer targeted. This is a better indication of targeting duration than the audio alert.
But, you should be shutting the jammer off after you slow down when being targeted anyway. The LED may tell you if he stopped targeting you before you shut it off, say due to a punchthrough or due to picking up scatter instead of being targeted.
Escort products continue to alert for 5 seconds or so. Beltronics' laser alert goes from continuous to several seconds of "intermittent" chirps when targeting stops, so you can better tell targeting duration with a Bel vs. an Escort. The V1 stops alerting within 2 seconds of the signal stopping.

Got it. Thanks for the info! Unfortunately my LED switch is in a place that I can't watch while driving.

Yeah the V1 has a gradual ramp-down after a strong radar signal. But for laser it does a set number of "European siren" cycles and then stops (if targeting has stopped), giving about 2 seconds for a fast burst of laser.
Beltronics units have a long linger for radar (my RX65 will sit at signal level 1 for 5 seconds or so after the signal stops) but for laser it goes straight from the "continuous" chirping to a few seconds of intermittent chirp, so you know exactly when targeting stops.
Escort's laser alert gives no good indication of targeting duration, it always screams at full tilt for several seconds after targeting stops.

I always do. I'm curious about having a way to tell if the officer gets punchthrough before I kill the LI.

Yes, the LED. Maybe mount the switch where you can glance at it as you're shutting it off, or install another LED somewhere.
