    Default LI head placement

I am looking at 2 placement options on my 2004 s4 front end 1. Is in the edge of the upper grill near each headlight. 2. Is in the lower grills under each headlight. #2 wil be much easier but I am concerned that it will be less effective.

    Thoughts?

Both locations will work fine. I'd incorporate them into the upper grill though. Bubbles out, level, aligned.....

Do you really think the LI are strong enough to put in the lower section grills? It would really make the install much easier.

    Thanks

It's not an issue of the strength of the jammer. The receiving lense on the LIDAR gun has a fairly large view of your car so it will have no problem "seeing" the LI and getting jammed, the question is can the LI see the LIDAR beam when you're shot? If doesn't see the LIDAR than it obviously won't start jamming, and thus you're screwed.

The standard rule is the bubble of the LI head should be within 18" of any reflective surface on the car.. You'll obviously have better results with the heads in the upper part of the grill. You may be able to get away with the heads near the fogs, but if you run with a front license plate you're risking punch throughs.

If you still choose to install near the fogs, you should have the bubbles IN, that should give you better performance in that situation... If you put them anywhere closer to the center of the car then it's bubbles out.

You should find someone in your area that can test your car once you've finished.. just to be sure.

I have an Audi, as do several other members with JTG performance in the upper grill.
