I just bought LI duals and I need advice on where to install the CPU. I want to be able to upgrade the software, so inside the driver's door panel is a bad idea.

Ideally, you should mount your CPU with Velcro under the steering column or similar location. This allows you access when you need to download new firmware as well as allows for the speaker to project the alerts towards your seating position allowing you to better hear them.
Attached is the CPU on my car:

Mine is Velcro-ed to the inside of my interior fuse box cover, and thus concealed from view. Siren warning sound is unmistakable but the voice is a bit muffled, though. To access all I need do is pop open the fuse box cover and there it is in front of me.
Thanks, Pshootr. I want it out of view but I want to hear the warning. My car stereo can get pretty loud. I sure wish it had a visual warning also. Ugh.
Or you can hook up an external speaker to it. I can hear mine though the radio and the windows rolled down.
