    E,

I just tried to phone you and left a VM.

Try turning the power switch Off first before you hit the "Connect" button and On again when the Window asking you to do so appears. Failing that, please call me at our Technical Support Number in my signature and we will be glad to assist you. Also watch here:

I dont have the PA switch but had similar problem...it was a COM issue....had to scroll through the available COM ports on Communicator and then open the port i chose on the PC through Device Manager...worked like a charm after that

Thx again for all the help Cliff! (Cliff = the absolute best in customer service!)

I have a USB to serial convertor cable that I rarely use (in fact I only use it for my LI now).

But, when I plug this into my laptop it then takes a few seconds to first recognize this cable and then (after re-installing the "cable" itself) it then adds a bunch of extra COM port numbers to the Windows configuration.

Only then does mine see that my LI cpu is connected on COM10 (weird?). Anyway, this COM10 is one of the ports that get re-added.

The new communicator doesn't seem to expect double digit COM ports as it was only partially visible in the small box which needs to be enlarged slightly (I meant to mention that to Cliff but he will probably read this anyway).

I just re-visited this whole process this morning with my firmware so I thought that I'd post this information here.

Sorry to change topic, but where is a good place to buy the cable at? and what brand works? I bought one a while ago from a local store, and it did not work.

Some have purchased this cable and been without any issues: Belkin USB/Serial Portable Adapter Serial adapter - USB

Make sure you have selected the proper COM port on your PC and that the cable and drivers are compatible with your OS. This is usually the problem 99 percent of the time.
