I'm toying with the idea of adding front/rear jammers to the back of my car, but the mounting location for the rears may be a problem. I posted up some ideas I gathered based on looking at various pics from the install thread. Any input on these would be appreciated.
Position 1. This would be a single rear-mounted sensor placed under the small door that that provides access to the fuel tank. The idea is that it would blend into the back of the tail light assembly. The sensor would stay where it is when the fuel door is opened. The risk here is that fuel could (and likely would) get on the sensor assembly.
Position 2. This would be a single sensor mounted slightly off center above the license plate. I cant center it due to the position of the license plate lamp. This would be a difficult install, but the depth of the jammer might fit nicely into the recessed area for the license plate. (Not sure on depth yet, I need to measure.)
Position 3. This would be a dual sensor set up using custom brackets. This would give the best coverage (I think), but would also be pretty easily spotted. (That would be a problem since I live in Texas, where the LI device is technically illegal.)
Position 4. This would be a single sensor mounted under the license plate with a custom bracket. Good coverage (maybe?), but likely very noticeable too. This would be the easiest install.
Position 5. This would be a dual sensor set up attached to the top of the tail light panels (not attached to the deck lid, although that might be doable.) The challenge here is that it may require digging into the metal due to the depth of the sensors.
Position 6. This would be a single sensor mounted above the fuel door and attached to the deck lid. This would be moderately noticeable, but would require the least modification (I think).
So... what say ye?
