Default adding new variable to test? "TPT"

    TPT = True Punch Through

After viewing outruns videos, and noticing that when the more of an angle the car was at, even when the car was right on top of the laser gun, the punch throughs were in the hundreds. This got me thinking of the actual punch through that the gun received. example

So I was thinking we could add another note on the test, which is TPT- standing for the true punch through of the test vehicle. What do you all think?

I think that would be nice to have. From there you may be able to get some new ideas on jammer placement angles.

yeah but at that angle the guns reading would be off by 20MPH

The Marksman gave us 3-4 MPH off when only driving in lane 1

The new Laser Atlanta guns have an option to enter your angle so that it won't factor in the speed reading. You measure your angle and then enter the angle so it doesn't subtract speed because of the angle. I noticed this feature playing around with the LA gun when I was at the last GOL test in Ohio. Not sure how to set it up though.

It sounds like a good idea, What does the gun manufacturer say about cosine error at that angle though?

The best test I can think of is trying to get a reading anywhere from the vehicle instead of just aiming at the plate & headlights. ( like shooting fish in a barrel) Go for windshield trim, sunroof visors, Hub caps, anything you could possibly get a reading from so we are not overly optimistic thinking we will get a "JTG" every time when we buy the product and get nailed because of it.

every LEO I ever met is a lying barstard in the courtroom just to get a conviction. And I know they will try to target anything they can on a vehicle to get a reading. not just a headlight or front plate.

Just by targeting the grill, front plate, and headlights does not show me anything substantial. It is not real world testing. ( not bashing, just an opinion)

I appreciate all you guys doing the testing and I wish I lived closer to help out anyway I could except monetarily. ( too damn broke )

of all the videos I have watched, none have me convinced yet. Although great video work & editing. and all for no pay and your own time invested!!

Please target the mirrors, and top-edge of the windshield and anything else that will give a reading, Then If I see jammers foiling that, I will defenitely buy the best performer. (cuz I don't want to build my own)

Oh yeah I forgot about that I remember JTW explaning that to me... LMAO

Well I would hate for any one who is up against the LA... Texas will never have LA!

What about UL do they have a same kind of software?? I am thinking I heard they had the same kind of ability.

But there has to be some kinf of hardware limit to that... not to mention you eye limit!!

Side view mirror is where i used to get punch through on my cavi. Then I added another m40 and made it an m40- I get JTG at about a 1 1/2 to 2 lane angle.

Back to the subject though, who thinks its a good idea? *poll added*

So let me understand this correctly you want to find out at what angle on each jammer do we get instant PT ??

and you would call that TPT... if thats it then yeah I think it good for everyone to know the limitations of all the jammers... o you know what you paid for!

Pretty much. All you have to do is laser the road next to you on which lane the car is coming from.
