Default What's the difference between LED and diode jammers?

I keep seeing everyone pushing the diode jammers here. What is the difference? What is the benefit with diodes? What is so bad with LEDs?

And please explain it in layman's terms.

diodes are hundreds of times more powerful then LEDs, which is why they can jam w/o veil at long distances. Most LED jammers cant jam at a distance of 1500 feet on some cars w/o veil.

Some pro's to LED's are they dont get to hot, and you never hear about them burning out. They are reliable as long as you get the VEiL to protect you from long distance shots.

LED jammers do ok w/o veil, where as diodes do awsome

    Thanks Sethy.

The diodes, when activated by LIDAR, are still not visibly flashing or anything, right?

(I know...total stupid newbie question. But I want to make sure.)

Since there is a chance of Diodes buring out and can't be seen by the naked eye, do any of those jammers have a start up diagnostic to warn you of a problem?

I've said this again and again, it's not an issue of LED's Vs. Diode, it's the "package". You can have diodes and a crappy jam technique and you won't jam much. On the other hand, LED's could have a great technique and jam well. Just look at Drivesmart, they are a diode based system (multiple?) and it doesn't get the job done. Lidatek's diode based system throws jam codes and doesn't perform as well as Blinder. Don't think that LPP is superior because they use diodes, they've done their homework and engineered the entire system well.

    Remember....technique, technique, technique!!!

Default got apersonal opinion on my bel lp-905 behalf

sethy says led jammers are good long range and longer lasting-but was real quick to cut them down from close range it seems??
anyways, i have a blazer with 3 uop front the lp-905 from roy and i jammed to gun on 5 runs recently before they finally stiopped shooting me. tthey had no punchthrough as i jammed all 5 rune. 2 prolasr 3 and 1 ultralytel/r and your comment about not being effective up close?? i even went home to get my celica which has the lp-904 bel laserpro but only 2 front and 1 rear. sure enough, i passed and jammers went off and they couldnt get anything till 2-400 feet no more than that. and this is a 6 year old jammer savcing my but many times before and is still working.
although after talking to roy-sold me the lp-905 up front on my blazer(excellent jtg results) and no veil, just jammers. money is the issue and i havent had any problems with just my jammer to date. but i think i may buy a new jammer to replace the older lp-904 on celica gts even thought its working fine. first thing will be buy the rx65 new. and go from there. d
