How are people getting JTG with the AL if it has a 4 or 8 second limit?
Is there a way to change the setting to constant?
Holding the program button for 8 second only changes the setting from 4/8.
Is there a hidden setting?

yes there is a hidden setting. its only 21 blinks away
I wouldnt recommend this though- it cant be good for the diode.
Well I haven't seen any proof that it is bad. Mine has been in no timer mode since I've had it and no problems. Has anyone asked AntiLaser?Originally Posted by Sethy
I would say its bad...but you are not really gonna jam him probley more then 8 seconds....unless he starts shooting you way passet 1000ft
I have asked AL about this and they told me it has no effect on the diode. I personally find this hard to believe

buyradardetectors rocks!
If they aren't driving the diode beyond its rated specs, and the unit is designed to dissipate the heat, running it continuously shouldn't hurt the diode.
I think it was Lidatek who was overdriving the diode on their jammers, thus the need for the "cool-down" cycle.
My concern isn't the 4 or 8 second limit, it's the 60 seconds before it will jam again, which apparently occurs when you power-up the jammer as well. In no-limit mode, this 60 second delay goes away, so when you get lasered, you drop to PSL, shut off the jammer, pass the threat, then power it up and you're protected again, "immediately".
What would be nice (maybe in a future rev.?) is to allow for the 4 or 8 second cut-off, but have the jammer go back online faster, say 10 seconds after it stops receiving laser from the LEO. That way you don't have to remember to turn it off and back on, and you're protected immediately after passing a trap, in case you forget to keep driving slow for a while. Or a mode where it shuts down after 4-8 seconds, and sleeps for X seconds, but a power-cycle or reset button will bring it back online immediately.

that would be really nice..... for a moment when I first read about it .... I thought that's how it worked... but I guess I was wrong....Originally Posted by kpatz
Personally I doubt that running the diode for long periods of jamming is "healthy" for the unit. But in no-timer manual mode, how long will you use the unit? 5 sec? 8 sec? 18 sec? Not 24 minutes...Originally Posted by stealthJamal
If you think about it, how often does a jammer have to actually jam? Once a week, once a month, maybe daily if you live in Ohio but the amount of usage the diode gets is minimal in any case. As long as it isn't overdriven or overheated, the diode should last a LONG time, even in no-limit mode.Originally Posted by SmaartAasSaabr
Even if you get lasered at 1000' and you JTG, that's less than 10 seconds of jam time at 70 mph. And anyone who's smart will slow to PSL and kill the jammer anyway. The diode should last for many hours of use. Assuming 10 seconds per jam and a 1000 hour diode lifespan, you're good for 360,000 jams. Even if the diode only lasts 10 hours it's good for 3,600 jams. You won't wear it out even in Ohio.
