I'm wondering what it would take; and, if it would be feasible and reasonable to use a three position switch on/off/on... or on/on/on and maybe a (couple of) relay(s) to wire an AL installation for this...
Position 1 = AL on + Brake lights on
Position 2= AL on + Brake lights off
Position 3= AL off + Brake lights on
Position 1 is used when cruising
Position 2 is used when AL alarms + jams while slowing down.
Position 3 After you are slowed down to allow LEO to get a speed reading and appear normal.
Just out of curiosity, I have searched all over for a way to do this... In switching between position 1 and 2 you do not want to lose power (even momentarily) to the AL unit while it's jamming, (which is why I think you might need a relay or 2).
Thing is, I can't figgure out a schematic for it. Anybody care to post one?
I think it would be the best way to totally conceal the existance of AL in areas where jammers are illegal, and work as well for the poor Canucks who can't even own a RD... for their RDs
