i think 21 would be good.

i've seen anywhere from next lane on the sidewalk, to 4-5 lanes from the other side of the road.

3 lanes seems pretty darn good to me

So, by your so-called "angle" measurement, you mean, "angle" = (distance from vehicle)*sin(theta), where theta is the angle between the line that you're standing on that is parallel to the road and the line to the center of the car ?

    Hmmmmmmm.

I'd say that options outside of the 15 - 27 ft range should be needed.

THIS PHOTO fits in JTW's range ~12 feet +/- and ~200 feet out.

Consider an officer in the center median perdendicular to traffic.
He's 20 - 40 feet off the roadway surface and depending on how far down the road you are the "angle" is going to be very small, until about 200 feet.

Here's a picture of an actual NH "trap" going on.
The distance off the highway is about 25 - 30 feet, the picture is about 500 -700 feet out.

    SAME position from another angle:

These are MUCH further off axis on the vehicle trajectory in the travel lane.

I'll participate and say 27 ft.

Must do overpass shot? We can use this one I guess. 18ft + height of the tripod.

This will be our test site, 2 lanes, plus 1 fairly wide bicycle lane. We'll have the test vehicle take the far lane.

Your test site is awesome! I love the scenery. I hope more members can do tests like these so we can have tests ALL YEAR around and keep everyone informed and on their toes. If we can achieve this every time a new firmware comes out we will be all over it like white on rice. I cant wait for results. people that have done these tests know how time consuming they can be especially when done right. The best part of doing tests is hanging out with the guys and getting away from the day to day routine
