LPP vs AL w/ a V1?
Ok, I have to admit by reading and reading all these posts and being totally new to jammers I may be asking some simple questions, but please bear with me.
I have the latest V1 and love it. I want to get a jammer, and think (am I right?) that the LPP and AL are the best (most effective?)?
I just recently got a ticket for 5mph over and never saw him. I typically am very alert and am rather po'd that he got me and was a jerk to boot. Saw my detector and laughed even....grrr
Here in FL, laser seems to be everywhere these days, and so my quest begins.
My questions are, what are the best ones period?
Will both the LPP and AL give JTG readings or none at all? (i can see a cop here pulling me over if jammed)
Do both stay on all the time or are activated by the V1?
If on all the time, wont the V1 alert all the time?
I drive ALOT in working and get hit 4-5 times a day w/ laser and once a day w/ radar.
Any advice if greatly appreciated
i believe the lpp and al have either a continuous jam or 8 second jam then it stops. Mousie can probably confirm this (or others).
welcome to the boards also btw.
sorry about the ticket, however what did the ticket say he got you on laser or radar?
Laser... showed me my "speed"
Thats when he saw the V1 and said "isnt that a laser detector?" and laughed saying something about "did you no good did it".... in a waaay too cocky tone.
Cops here have over the top 'tudes and speed traps are everywhere. A ticket for 40 in a 35 zone...... sheesh
Acutally it was a 45 then dropped to 35 and I was slowing down, but he got me. I hit the brakes, but too late of course.
Since I get hit so often daily, a jammer would be of great use. But like I said, if it was JTG I can see them pulling you over and hassling you if they suspect that. Not that they can do anything, but I dont tneed that hassle.
thanks for the welcome!
LPP has a default 8 seccond jam time, the unit can be reprogrammed to jam the whole time laser is hitting you, if you reporgram it.
As to the remake that the LPP unit will set of the v1. No it will not set off you v1. The v1 is a totally seperate unit then the LPP and have no connection. The Laser Pro Park unit has an on/off switch with an led. The Led will switch from green to red when being hit and the buzzer to the LPP will beep.
My advice since you get targeted with laser 4-5 times a day is get a dual head LPP. It will pay its self off many time over at that rate. If correctly intalled, you can blow through those speed traps with no worry at all. JK but you prob can, just not a good idea. Also if i had a choice between radar or laser, i would so choose laser, bc you can jam it. Instant-on radar is deadly.
I had seen some type of laser jammer before that woked off of a V1 or something (maybe I misred) and thought thats how they all worked.
I do plan on a dual head unit.
Heres a typical trap that they run every 2 weeks. 6 lane road, 3 each direction. as you head east you come over a bridge. As you top the bridge a cop down the road sitting on a bus stop bench nails you with laser. Of course you can barely see him at that point. There is no turnoff from that point until a mile down the road, so you have to pass him. Just past him the road curves and in the median (out of sight until you round the curve) is a line of 10+ cop cars and bikes waiting to pull you over.
My V1 always alerts me well ahead of the bridge and Im aware of that trap, so Ive never gotten caught. But this was a new place and if I had a jammer, I would have beaten his reading as I was slowing anyway and tapped the brakes.
Will the LPP or AL give JTG or no reading?
Is there punch through at all with those?
Also the reson you never previosly got caught is due to the v1 SUPERIOR laser detection. I believ you picked up scatter from anothe car infront of you and got an advance warning. No other Rd that i have earned has been able to pick up laser scatter. There is no substitute to the V1's laser detection.
A few questions regaurding toward the answer to your questions.
RovinC what type of car do you use?
How close does the officer target you?
04 Hyundai Accent GT, grey color.
Most of the time Id say hes a good distance, over several hundred feet, but have been right on top of some when they hit when on two lane roads.
I even got hit once on my own street! That time I could see him well, again out of his car leaning on a fence. He was maybe 100 ft away w/ no car in sight parked around a street corner.
Speed limit is 20 and people are always going 30 it seems. I never ever speed on small residential roads like that anyway. Too many kids and a potential trajedy.
On the highway or interstate thats different. then its 1000 ft or more.
then i would put both heads up front to make sure you get JTG. but lso remeber, when you purchase a LPP its defaul jam time is 8 seconds, so you need to reprogram it. i believe Go-mouse made a video of the step by step reprogram guide.
LPP is your best bet against laser right now. i myself when i get out of school this summer am going to purchase a dual head setup when i get my first pay check.
what is the typical response when a cop sees JTG?
Dont they assume you have a jammer and may pull you over anyway or is JTG common?
Or do they just not bother?
Since I go thru many of the same traps and eanch time they see a jtg and me Id think theyd put it togehter? No laws here in FL against it, but am wondering what happens when they see that?
