    Default protecting a white mustang

    Hello,
I've been looking at laser jammers for quite a while now. I have been looking at the Escort zr3, the Blinder M-40, and the LPP single head parking sensor. I have a 2006 white mustang, which I realize isn't going to be easy to fully protect.

I currently have an escort 8500, so I could hook the zr3 into it. I will be using veil on the headlights and fog light, and will get a license plate cover. What would give me the best coverage? I will only be trying to protect the front of the car.
    Thanks

Do you want jam to gun performance? If you don't find that necessary, one diode based jammer head should be enough, espeically if you are going to use Veil and a license cover.

No, I just need a couple seconds to slow down (I suppose I could be rather close to the gun by then)

One diode jammer like the LPP should give you time to slow down. I would cut the grill right below the Mustang house and put it there. If you moun it in the lower grill you will not have enough performance. Also you might want to think about a black car bra it would help a lot, but i know if i had that car i would put a bra on it.

Either a Blinder setup (measure-off your hard-points, as suggested via the install video on Roy's commercial site, to determine if you'll need a M20, M30, or M40 setup) or a diode-based jammer will give you more than enough time to "slow-to-PSL/reasonable."

Even the ZR3 will work well enough, provided that the LIDAR you encounter happens to be ones against which the ZR3 is effective enough.

Without the need to JTG, you really do open up your choices quite a bit. "Bang for the buck" will be a big issue for you to debate over the next few sleepless nights.

Consider VEIL and/or otherwise "dressing" your lights. Also consider a LaserShield. However, with each of these, also consider their negatives (i.e. color-shift [which may itself result in more enforcement attention] & light reduction w/VEIL, potential "fix-it" violation with the license-plate cover, aesthetics, etc.).

    Quick question:

How much money are you willing to spend, where do you live, and how much do you want to "change" the appearance of your vehicle(Veil will change the appearance of the lights).

I'm in Washington state, don't mind adding veil to the lights, or adding a licence plate cover. I would like to keep the price below $500, but could go up to 6 or 7 hundred if I needed to.
    Thanks

    Then do both.

Also, as an alternative to VEIL, again if it is aesthetically (and functionally, as it also does decrease lighting output significantly) acceptable to you, you can try some of the darker headlight covers, if they are available for your vehicle.

alpinestars has shown that they work very well - but they must be DEEPLY tinted, and this in and of itself may again spark un-necessary enforcement attention and/or may not be functionally/aesthetically acceptable to you.

Definitely, the M20 or the Escort system would be do-able. An M30 would be pushing your budget up to the next bracket, and I would inquire as to whether or not a professional installation is required in order to maintain warranty validity (this can be a concern, check with the MANUFACTURER [not retailer] first).

The single-head LPP will be in this price range.

yeah, it just depends on how far you want to go.
ideally you want to cut down as much reflectivity as possible. this will make it that much easier for your jammers to do their job.

i have a big truck, so the less reflective surfaces the better.
