I hope to purchase the LaserInterceptor (dual-head) soon, so I've started to think about its placement. LIDAR guns that are used in my country: 95% Kustom ProLaser III, 5% LTI Ultralyte (none of those in my area, where I drive 99% of the time). Hopefull you can see the photo of my car-type below, I just have a diff. colour (very dark grey).
As you can see, the car has a vertically-based main grille, so there's no chance to put anything there without uglifying the car's look dramatically. The most comfortable placement for me would be in the GREEN positions. No drilling, nothing.
As far as I know about placement of jammer-heads, I think that RED may provide better protection to the corners of the headlamps (which I believe would be quite a tasty target for LEOs), but there's a little problem. There's a convolute (simply the thing a metal loop can be screwed in in case of being towed by another car with a rope) behind the plastic cover. I'm actually not quite sure if there would be enough space to place the head there.
After checking-out the heads' specs at Ivan's website, I found out, that the height of each head is just 15,5 milimeters, so I may hopefully be able to place them to one of those BLUE locations just with a bit of drilling.
MY QUESTION: Which one would you preffer? AND: Do you think, that GREEN would provide good protection against ProLaser III? LEOs usually shoot cars from very short distances (around 300 feet) in my area for them to have a photo of the car.
THANK YOU very much for your time![/img]
