Default Effectivness of Le bra type cover against laser

I was thinking about this a long time ago.

Would a black leather or vinyl front end cover help to reduce laser signature? This is assuming you already veiled the license plate and lights.

How effective do you think this would be? I have a silver metallic car and it seems logical it would help reduce the massive amount of ir light my car could reflect.

Le bra is a common manufacturer of the type of product I'm referring to.

I've been wondering about that, too.

    Well, lets think about this......

Black is the least reflective color (generally)

If your car has a dull finish to it and the Black isn't glossy, you'd get less light refracted / reflected back to the Rx lens on the LIDAR unit.

If the Bra isn't glossy or shinny with Armor All, you'd get closer to the LIDAR before the gun could calculate a reading.

My educated guess is that grey primer is the best, non reflective color, surface to use.

Next would be a film / tint of some sort which absorbs light.

    See what VEIL does.

A black car bra helps a lot in reducing the range a laser gun can get a speed reading on your car especially if our car is not a dark color. I had one on my old car and it worked well especially against the Stalker LZ1. happya$$, Sethy, and Jimbonzzz all witnessed this with my old car too. I used it in conjunction with a laser shield on my license plate, Veil on my headlights, and a Escort ZR3 laser jammer. My old car was ugly looking with that crap, but it sure was stealth.

StealthJamal, what color was your car?

Yea, it seems very logical that it would help. My car is shiny metallic silver so I need something else. Im pretty sure it will be super easy to target.

They are only like 100 dollars so it seems like a good idea

Hmmm....yes, I've always wanted one, especially for love bug season. Also, my car is white. Then again, I haven't seen enough laser to justify the purchase.

Also be careful which one you get. Some of them are rather loose fitting and will eat up your paint. autoanything.com has some pretty good prices (I think it was 64 +free shipping for the cheapest one, and 70-80 for a better one)

Bought a CoverCraft bra from this site for my 04 Dodge Stratus 4-dr silver grocery-getter/kid hauler after getting advice from others on this site that it may help reduce the length of laser detection by a LEO. Principles seem sound, though I can't yet confirm any effects positive or negative.

If buying from this site, it may be wise to spend a little more and get the brand name (like Le Bra). They say all this stuff about how easy it is to get it on and how well it fits. Here's my review posted on the site, long-winded as I always am. Hope this helps some:
Will it protect the front of the car as a bra is supposed to? Yeah. But it wasn't easy to get on, doesn't fit as it's supposed to (loose in some places), directions aren't clear and have to flip between 2 different sets of instructions, and the latches that are supposed to tighten in the wheel wells don't hold tight no matter what you do. My advice if you buy one is to invite someone over who is slightly mechanically inclined (if you're not), scrap the POS instructions and just do it as it looks it should fit. Use the instructions to start the fire in the grill for the barbecue while you're putting the bra on. Relatively cheap bra, so I guess you get what you pay for. If I were to do it again, I'd spend a little extra and get one that would fit like it's supposed to rather than a "this fits many cars OK, but none well" bra. Then they ask you for a review and offer $10 off another purchase, but it has a huge list of excluded items. GREAT...so I get $10 the 4 remaining eligible products, none of which I want or can use. Thanks..."
