    Default Laser-diode based jammer output?

Does anyone know how many watts the laser-diode based jammers are outputting?

Interesting. In my hands i hold a 40w constant, 980 nm laser diode. I'm trying to figure out if I should try and make something out of it......

Yes, definitely try something with it, since you have it. You should get the part# and search for the data sheet... I think laser diodes have a pretty narrow bandwidth, so centered at 980nm I doubt that it puts out much power on 904nm. However, I would bet that the laser receiver circuits in the guns have a wider bandwidth, so maybe they would still receive the output from your 980nm laser diode.

You need a pulsed laser diode.

Lidatek says the laser guns have pretty selective light receivers. Anything +/- 10nm from the centered 904nm wavelength probably won't get through the filters.

It is sounding like the 980nm laser diode won't be of much use to him.
So did Lidatek happen to mention what photodiode they're using...

just figured I would check. It's hard to turn down free stuff

    No, it's proprietary info.

I heard rumors that Antilaser laser diode is 100W. Lidatek also said most LED jammers only operate at 200mw per LED.

You can not compare 50watt from a LED to 50watt from a pulse laser.

    - In many cases the frequency from the LED is off from the lasergun freq. Many LEDs are at 880nm central freq. only 10% from it's power output is at 904nm. This is a problem when the lasergun has a narrowband optical filter in front of it's photo diode
    - Switch on/off behaviour of LEDs is much slower then a laser. You cannot create a 20nm high power pulse with a LED. The lasergun receiver uses a high-pass filter in it's amplifier circuits, this will filter out 'slow' pulses.

That's why this little (19W @ 905nm) pulse laser diode, the size of an ordinary 5mm LED, is much more effective in a jammer than multiple LED's in a blinder.
