I think the topic tells it all.

LED
Generally cheaper, but larger heads to mount and not as effective.
Laser Diode
More expensive, more effective, smaller heads to mount.
I think that about sums it up.
I'd add that LED units usually need multiple heads compared with Diode based jammers.Originally Posted by JadeRaven
LEDs can sometimes get punchthoughs at really high distances before they begin to effectively jam. Diodes may not be immune to doing it too, but they do it less often at the very least. (this is all from what I've read)
Anyway I'm curious to see how big diode heads are?? My blinders aren't big by any means, maybe compared to the diodes... but I don't think they are ridiculous or anything. I have a 350z which has a pretty tiny grill, and they fit in there just fine.
I have nothing good to say about LED jammers. They are cheap as hell to manufacturer but yet they still cost the consumer an arm & leg. there performance is pathetic compared to diode jammers.
do yourself a favor and pick up a diode based jammer. units are small, durable, and work. you get what you pay for per say. I'd never trust a LED jammer for myself nor do I recommend them to any of my friends.

I disagree. Pair an old pre stealthmode fix Blinder with Veil or a Laser Mimic with Veil and you have SOLID protection and PLENTY of time to slow down. I will prove this to all of you with my Civic which has a Mimic on it and my SUV which has a Blinder on it

I'd like to see how a LED jammer would give me enough time to slow down in that scenario.
If we are talking targeted from 2000 feet away, then sure you will have more than enough time to slow down.
Run the test from 500 feet away heck run it from 800 feet away and see if you can say the same thing. I'd be shocked if you could.
From everything I have seen LED's perform pretty well up to about 1000 feet...after that you are running on hope and chance...sometimes they can JTG other times they let you down their reliability really fluctuates a lot.
Heres a good Video made by thestation of a blinder with veil being targeted by an older LTI marksman from around 800ft.
This wouldn't make me feel very secure driving around.

More than a little bit better wouldnt you say?

we don't have JUICED mimics nor can we buy a M20. NOR do I want to use VEIL it ruined my EVO & WRX's bumper.Originally Posted by happya$$
look at your SUV happya$$ the bumper can never be fixed.
stop promoting the hypothetical. *cough* crapler.
finally, your POS mimic has not even been tested against the gauntlet.
if you want to talk the talk we'll put it on the white suv at the next GoL then we'll have racer X take a picture of you as we are getting the 1500FT Punch Throughs.
please stop misleading these forum members with the HYPOTHETICAL BS. worse than an outrun video.
finally, the majority of us don't have small tiny black cars.
Well we shall see. One thing for sure though an LED jammer historically wise has shown to be rock solid in terms of dependability
