I have been thinking about this for some time. Everyone test jammers by targeting a headlight, plate, etc. They shoot it forever until it comes right down to the gun. Then the result is what it is.
But SML does not do it this way. Not only that neither do officers. I have talked to many officers over time now and recently talked to a traffic officer that is a friend of the family. It's all the same with every officer.
They all target the vehicle at 1,000 feet or more. They just shoot the car. Not a headlight, not a plate. They just shoot the whole car. Why? Well at 1,000 feet that is all they see anyway is the whole car and pretty much so does the beam. If they don't get a reading within a few seconds they move on to the next vehicle. They don't know you have a jammer. So, they are not sitting there trying to pick you off. Now you have slowed down becuase of the alert and your good.
I bring this up because I think some of the people who are testing jammers such as me and others soon forget that we have been shooting jammers for so long that we can almost tag the car with any jammer and get a reading. It's because we have done it so much.
I recently had a DPS officer shoot my Antilasers. He was unable to get a reading and thought it was really cool. Now when my dad shoots it he gets a reading almost instant. Now how could that be? It's because we shoot jammers all the time and we look for those week spots and we know when the gun is going to get a reading by listening to the gun etc.
Officers don't know this and therefore with any jammer besides one we can't name you are going to be in good shape if you get shot by an officer.
So, back to the testing. I think it is fine to test how it does on a headlight etc. JTG is always nice. But add this to the list. Shoot it for 3 or 4 seconds on the headlight let the person slow down. If you get punch through post it. Rather then just targeting the headlight from 1,000 feet out listening to the gun and knowing when you are going to get a reading and then bam you get a reading. In the real world it wouldn't happen that way. After 4 seconds or so that officer is going to move to another headlight, plate or better yet another car.
The whole purpose of any jammer is to give you time to slow down. LED or Diode they do the same.
