    Default Interesting observation - Outruns M45 v. IRCMUSA M45.

Since people have a problem with me having an opinion because I'm apart of GoL I've decided to take a new approach. I'm going to offer observations and let you the reader make your own decision.

But just for the record I'm not pleased with this, but if it keeps me from getting sued I'll do it.

So today it's sunday and I'm watching my Bills when I happen to stumble across a new video by the IRCMUSA guys.

This first picture is how bright the LED's are of a M45 owned by IRCMUSA.

The second picture is how bright the Diode of a LPP is owned by IRCMUSA.

The video can be found here.

Here is the screenshot taken from Outruns video showing the brightness of his M45 & Anti Laser.

video can be found here. from Sept. 09 2007.

Thoughts? Since I can't have an opinion I'm curious to see what you think.

I replied about this on a different thread. Could this be that this is an old video of Jason's M40? Could be a camera difference (IR filters)? Anyways an interesting observation

I can clear it up. For some reason my camera can actually pick up the heads firing back. BUT, my 2,500 can can't. Also I have to be level with the jammers to see them. I think IRCMUSA is using night vision or some other filter.

    Hi happya$$,

I agree with you. I'm betting on the difference or lack thereof of good IR filtering between the different cameras. To me, it is obvious that the top two screen captures were done with cameras which either had no IR filtering or which had relatively weak IR filtering. The bottom screen capture seems to show a strong reddish tinge which should be due to the camera's built-in and fairly strong IR filter, the roll-off of which starts in the deep red.

Thats my conclusion based on optics and filter design, and knowing that the IR LED emitters actually have a very narrow bandwidth. Needless to say, the camera lens itself could either employ coatings or types of optical glass which may either block IR or produce a steep roll-off towards the IR part of the spectrum. The only way such videos would be worth a grain of salt is if all were shot using the same camera and lens.

    2 different types of cameras. 1 w/ IR 1 w/o.
i'll shoot an M20 head and an M25 head side by side with an IR cam and post it soon for everyone to compare.

    testing in progress.........................

    here's what you'll get:

AL (LPP's are on my vehicle, so i'm not pulling them for this one. I'll look at putting an AL next to an LPP later and see if they are the same. I suspect so.)

Blinder- M20 head and M25 head

    LE-30

LE-10 (I'll close my eyes on this one )

this test is conducted on a workbench, heads leveled, alone and together, IR cam mounted on tripod at fixed distance and fixed height. all units shot with LTI Marksman, behind camera.
Also you will be able to see the beam from the Marksman to see where it is shooting.

Sine i know a lot of you are impatient, i'll post results when i'm done, with all the vids to follow.
