Several years ago (about 1997) a saw a story on the local news about a new gadget called “Laser Buster.”
This gadget could supposedly "jam" the new police laser guns being used for speed enforcement. The thing that caught my attention was that it was a local reporter testing the thing with some of our state troopers. And it turned out that the troopers were mortified that Laser Buster consistently jammed their new toys (e.g., laser guns.. no speed reading.. boo hoo
Of course I had to have one of these Laser Busters. But unfortunately, after I placed an order from the company, I proceeded to wait almost a year for delivery. That's right.. a year  By the time I got Laser Buster I had lost interest and, although I don't really recall what my new fascination was, I must have just moved on to the new gadget of the week.
Here we are 10 years later. I await the arrival and installation of my new toy "LI" (Update: LI arrived today! 10/3/07)
This got me thinking about Mr. Laser Buster. So I decided to see if I could locate the poor old guy in my basement. I never throw anything away.. just ask my wife.. well.. actually.. please don’t! Saving everything certainly applies to.. every Playboy I've ever had the pleasure to read.. for the articles of course  and especially any type of electronic gadget I've ever had the pleasure to acquire.. even if I never actually used the gadget (see: Laser Buster).
Anyway.. I'm happy to report that LB is alive and well. Of course, since I never bothered to hook it up, maybe it’s not. But it's certainly in the pristine condition it arrived in nearly 10 years ago.
Here's a pic I took tonight: http://s218.photobucket.com/albums/c...aserBuster.jpg
Man he looks good for his age, eh'?
Also. if you search for "Laser Wars Laser Buster" on Google you will find a cool Speed Labs test done years ago.
LB could really JTG in the day!!!! Go Buster!!!!
So.. what do you guys think? Are old Laser Buster's best days behind him (so he should just retire to my boring basement and hang with the rest of my has been/misfit toys?) Or.. does LB have something to contribute to society... or at least contribute to.. me? Maybe Mr. Buster would at least make a fine laser detector?? I'm pretty certain he couldn't jam his way out of a paper bag now.. he's no match for any of the laser toys being used by our super troopers of today.. or is he???
