Default For the noobs. It's not LED vs Diode. It's Laser vs Light

The main stream thinking here is diode jammers are better then LED jammers. This confuses the noobs because L.E.D. stands for "light emitting diode."

A more appropriate statement should be:

"Laser diode jammers are better than IR light diodes"

LED jammers don't use real lasers.

It's not about the diode. It's about what the "L" in LED stands for.

Umm, the L is LASER also stands for light.

LASER is an acronym that stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission Of Radiation.

A laser is light, but light may not be a laser.

Very good point - and indeed, this should be clarified for newcomers to this aspect of speed-detection countermeasures.

Perhaps a better way to word the two categories would be to say

    - laser-diode jammers

    versus

    - LED jammers

This will further simplify presentation, and is also consistent enough (via direct use of the "LED" acronym) with past-posts here to allow newcomers good frame-of-reference.

Yeah the problem stems from jammer veterans shortening it to "diode jammers" instead of "laser diode jammers".

All the newbies need to understand is that "LED's" and "Laser Diodes" are two different components, which are constructed differently and have different characteristics.

point is ...they are both diodes.. :-)

only difference is technology to produce light wich results in different timing, therefor power...
