Default Laser Activators Now Available! Test Your Detector/Jammer!

    Laser Activators Now Available!

The Laser Activator sends out a pulsed laser beam, replicating the pulse rate of an actual police laser gun. This will activate the laser alert on radar detectors and laser jammers. The Laser Activator can be used for such things as:

-Verifying operation of the laser detector in your unit
-Testing laser sensitivity of your laser detector
-Evaluating operation of your detector behind the tint strip

For range, expect 10-50 feet depending on the sensitivity of the detector. Actual range will vary depending on many factors, such as: detector sensitivity, ambient light, aim, etc.

    Requires 9V battery (not included).

    Visit the Laser Activator Webpage

    Nice!

Anyone in the NJ area want to split one of these with me (joint custody, alternate weekends or something like that)?

50% nice. This device will trigger a laser alert on the jammer, but it doesn't check if the jammer transmits the IR pulses necessary to actually jamm a lasergun. It is not a complete test and might give a false feeling of safety.
On the other hand, for its nice price I would buy one without thinking twice if had no real lasergun available!

I think there is more systematic error introduced via placement than the pulse-rate produced by a jammer, so I think 50% may be a little low

Also, it will get V1 owners out of the passing lane
    Before I get flamed, I have a V1 (and an X-50 and a 940).

Tough to decide. Guys of Lidar have a unit out and so does chris (JTW). Which one has a longer distance? .. ahhh...

By the way, Guys of Lidar rock!

Honestly if distance is your deciding factor, it appears that JTW's probably has more, but I haven't tried it. Ours tester does have better range than the combo radar/laser testers that Roy was selling though.
    Hope this helps!

    Jim,
Thanks for the quick response and for the frank honesty.
Hoping to get your unit soon.

Does this tester use LEDs like Chris's? He mentioned that as it uses LEDs and not a diode, the beam will be wider than you'd get with a real LIDAR gun. Given the price difference, I'm thinking maybe this one uses a diode that will be a closer simulation?

I'm fairly concerned with my RX65's laser detection given my own experience and things I've been reading here, I'd love ti give it a good test.

    Thx.

This one uses LED's too. I don't think one made with a laser diode would be practical due to cost.

If yopu are interested in the Guys of LIDAR tester, contact us for special pricing for forum members!

But of course you can also buy at full listed price to help support testing by Guys of LIDAR!
