    Question Some LPP questions

I'm using a single head LPP for like 6 months now and have some questions:

    - How can you check which version the LPP is on?
    - What if the version is outdated and you want to have it updated, do you have to send the head unit too ?
    - The manual says: 'when you enable permanent mode with instant ON (no warm up functions) you will shorten the life expectancy of the unit!'
Is it really a big difference for the life expectancy ? And is it possible to enable the warm up function if the LPP is in permanent mode (instant OFF)? (I mean, I can wait for 60secs. before testing all sort of laserguns if it's better for the LPP)

You check the color of the sticker. Not sure which color is what version.

I think you need to send the control box.

Hmmm...don't remember reading that in the manual. Maybe I missed it, or maybe it's in the new manual. Don't really see how it would shorten the life, though. I mean, as long as you aren't testing all the time (extended periods of times with the diode firing), and as long as you shut off the jammer once you get down to PSL, the diode shouldn't be on any longer than when it is not in permanent mode.

It depends on how you program it, if you do 21 blinks to set the jam timing, then it's the pre 100pps fix, othewrwise it's the V8.3.
When you bought it and where?
Life expectancy difference is negligible when comparing 8 seconds mode to permanent mode.

    ^ +1.

Look on the KMPH-Canada sponsored LPP Support Forums. That'll show you exactly the full programming features of the current 100-PPS UL-enabled model.

OK, I have the grey sticker.

Yeah well, I'm not testing laserguns on the LPP thát often, but I do always drive with permanent mode on and shut down the LPP asap when it goes off.

About 6 months ago, from a friend of mine.

Thnx, I will have a look.
btw: I've checked some approval certificates and the type lasergun that is used here is a LTI Ultralyte 100 LR (the one with serial number prefix UX) so it has 125 pps.

The color of the sticker is independent of the version.
To make sure, try to hold the mute button for 21 blinks if it doesn't do anything, then you have the 100pps fixed.

The question of the warm up time increasing life of the jammer is really unknown. My 2nd pair of LPP's died recently and I really do wonder if they would still be alive had I not used the permanent jam mode.

How long have you had it on permanent?

I still don't see how it would affect. In both modes, the diodes still do the once-a-second "parking pulse." The only way I see if affecting it is, as I said before, if you leave the jammer on for longer than the pre-determined 4/8 second cutoff. Most people shut things down when they reach PSL so it shouldn't be a problem.

    ^ That's what I think, too.

Two of my trusted LPP sources both cite that warning on the print-manual as a "CYA"-type deal.
