How effective do you guys think this install is?

sorry you can hardy see the heads but this is the earliest i've been home in a while (most sunlight i've seen out side of wor in a while)

you can't really see it in the pictures but the heads are not really recessed (at least not on purpose) they are about the same as the si badge


now that i look at the pics the LI heads don't look very level..

I downloaded and enhanced the photos. Your install looks great! There are only two things which I would do. First is to replace the shiny rear license frame with a black frame. Second is, one day when the weather is nice, remove the front bumper, mask off surrounding areas from overspray, spray paint the air conditioner condenser flat black, and reinstall the bumper. Doing this will significantly cut down chances of laser punch-through.

That looks good to me, but just to be sure, in addition to checking what our brothers above have already suggested, also....

I once thought that the Blinder was unique, in that its heads were, of their forward half, fully IR-transparent.

I was wrong. I found out, to my surprise and totally by accident, that the Escort ZR3 heads was, in addition to its forward lens, also IR-transparent along the TOP half of its "forward" heads.

When I realized this to be the case, I put 2 and 2 together, and finally understood why brother oahuyahoo's setup ( http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...stall-pii.html ), on his 'Vette, was seeing interference/destructive-crosstalk.

Take a moment to see if this is true of the ZR4, Montu - you may need to remove the ZR4 heads, to examine them more closely. I certainly never realized this, until I specifically looked for this, with the ZR3 heads off-vehicle.

If you do see a problem, I'd recommend that you simply put the ZR4s on "Receive Only" mode (both oahuyahoo and I are running our ZR3s in this mode).

Thanks guys, I will double check the LI heads to make sure they are level per zapple

also I will look into the ZR4 heads..but if I'm not mistake DJ and others have already tested for crosstalk?

anyway I need to test this thing..

..maybe when i'm not so lazy I will take off the bumper and spray paint the a/c condenser / any other shiny crap
