Can i rent a laser gun for cheap?

Hey guys/gals.

I've recently installed a blinder m45 laser jammer on the front of my Lexus. I've bought one of those $50 testers on ebay and used tv remotes etc to test them, but i want to do a real test, with a real gun. Not just to see if they're working, but to see how well they work.

My first thought was to buy a police laser gun, but then i found out they're something like $3500 brand new.

I've tried searching for used ones on ebay, but haven't had any luck locating one.

It does matter if it's new or used, it just has to work.

Does anyone know where i can either purchase one for less than $500? Or, does anyone know where i can possibly rent one for a week?

Please give any suggestions as i am very interested in attaining one for a while. Thanks!

Welcome to the boards! Would love to see pics of your car and install.

That $3500 price you got was from a thread that is 3 years old, you can probably get a good new gun for $2k to 2.5k now, but the best thing to do is to get together with fellow enthusiasts on a testing day and run against several guns. Good performance against a weak gun might give you more confidence than your system warrants. I learned about a weakness in my setup today; and am fortunate to be writing this now instead of waiting on my wife to bail me out.

I live in Rhode Island, can i rent one and have it shipped and returned to wherever it's from?

To be totally honest, i haven't seen one cop in RI using laser. I've "heard" about it, but am not aware of any county around here that uses it. Even still, i purchased the jammer just in case.

I'm a fast driver... and already have 3 tickets on my license in the past 4 years of driving (I'm 19 btw). I need all the jamming i can get!

I have the bel sti-r radar detector mounted on my roof and the blinder M45 4 sensors in the front. Thinking about getting an M20 for the back...

Do you guys think the blinder m45 in the front is a good enough defense against laser? Trust me, if RI cops even have laser, it'll be the cheapest model lol...

What Lexus model you drive?
I think M45 all sensors in front would be close to JTG...
And yes you can rent a laser gun for a week...

4 heads on a Lexus should not be too bad it they are installed properly. Only testing will tell for sure.

Check some of the social groups and see if there are other enthusiasts in your area. If you can get a few guys together to split the cost of renting lasers guns it's not a bad deal. That way you can rent 2 or 3 guns to test against.

i have an 03 Rx300, it's a small SUV.

I have 4 sensors mounted perp. to the ground like the directions said. The few testers i've used test ok and the jammer goes off when any infiniti pases me (assuming the cruise control sets it off).

Holy crap. All 4 up front! Can you say... JTG!

JTG if your car has a small lidar profile and just veil the lights and get a laser shield I think you can just go with your m-45 and put 2 in back and 2 in front especially if laser is rare and they are far shooters I would test it with 4 and then cover half and see the difference to see if it's negligible.
