Okay, so laser is becoming more and more prevalent in my beloved state of Texas, and word is even our own local constabulary is going to buy some laser guns. They tested some here a while back and I guess they must have liked 'em.
So, I have been considering a laser jammer set-up for new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. I have to admit I am incredibly reticent to cut the car up in any way, or drill a bunch of holes, as I want to keep it clean and as original as possible. I am really debating over doing any cutting or drilling in the interior, but perhaps with the help of all the accumulated expertise and experience here a way can be devised to avoid both issues...
I currently use windshield mounted radar detectors - a BEL STI and I am evaluating a brand new Valentine V-1 - but I have also considered an Escort 9500ci installation in this car.
As for the laser jammer alone, I am open to any brand, and would, of course, like the very best. It would be better yet if it could somehow interface with whatever detector set-up I use. Optional mirrors are out because I do not want to replace the factory mirror with its various OnStar and phone controls. Despite the state of Texas requiring a front license plate I don't run one, or the bracket, simply because I don't like how it spoils the appearance of the car. I haven't ever had a problem with this but that could change in the future if various law enforcement agencies ever start actually cracking down about the issue.
I haven't taken any pictures of my own car yet, but shown below is what the front end and rear end of the CTS-V look like.
So, what are all of your various ideas on jammer placement and installation?
