Default How Often Do You Guys Re-Level Your Jammer Heads?

I know some of you have leveled your heads down to an RCH, but how often do you re-level them? Bumps, road vibration, stones, et. al. are eventually going to move them out of that perfect alignment you spent so much time to get right. So how often do you go back and make sure they're still gnats-ass accurate?

It's an ongoing battle. With the 3M tape, every little temperature change causes a minor shift. I just keep my level in my center console and re-check it daily, as part of my pre-trip vehicle check. If it's off, simply pushing to re-seat it into the tape usually works just fine, as it is never very far off.

Once a week. I clean them once a week too.

My ZR4 heads are mounted using their metal brackets and screws. I check them only once every 3 months. So far I haven't had to re-level them, but that is because the brackets are screwed into the top of my car's front bumper. If instead they were attached to my car's front grille, then I know that I would have to check them every month since the grill is rather flimsy plastic.

I do mine weekly - however, the caveat is that locally, for my commutes, which occur on secondary surface streets, LIDAR encounters are very, very rare. Thus, I tend to only re-level immediately before my once-weekly highway jaunts.

If I were to face more LIDAR threats, i.e. if I were to undertake a riskier activity or travel through a known LIDAR-enforced area, I would take the extra time-out to re-level immediately before, for sure.

If they are installed correctly the first time and the vehicle is never in an accident, they should never have to be re-aligned. Cleaned regularly, yes. Re-aligned regularly or ever, no.

^ I honestly don't know about that one.....

Witness what happened in CFL#2 - Cliff's car got quite a bit of PTs, until he re-leveled his heads.

    The problem?

He'd undertaken a lot of road-miles in the weeks prior to the testing, and also, because of business needs, it required repeated opening/closing of the trunk - which greatly worsened rear-performance.

I think that, overall, "hard" mounting should be safer - that there should be much less variability, when the heads are mounted, via hardware, to a true vehicle structure....but even for mounts to the bumper skin (not actual bumper beam), expansion/contraction of the parts during hotter summer days and colder winter days may make for more variance, too.

Tape-mounted heads, though, from experience, I can tell you it "moves" quite a bit from week-to-week.

I only check level before I go to a testing event or a long road trip in which I am trying for a low travel time
