I think you should test that but insted of the 2 target points like normal have 3 plate, headlight, and top of the windshield. Also start at 2500' and all the way where you are aiming the gun straight down!!

Also, target the vehicle from the rear, this would really help to see its effectiveness as here in South Africa, they mainly target from the rear.

    Hey Anjoem

Where in South Africa are you?

I am KZN and must say 100% of our traps here are laser from the front.
Never seen any from the back.
I have an M40 on my Hilux, with all 4 heads on the front, so rear targetting makes me very nervous!!

I am in JHB. They love to target from the rear... Those are the tickets you usually get in the mail... If they targeted you from the front, then they will pull you over and write the ticket out.

The LEO's over here are milking this method of rear targeting as they dont have to do anything... All they have to do is setup the LTI-Marksman along with the PhotoLaser and set it to auto mode. Thats it... the equipment does the rest. If they target you from the front then an LEO is usually manning the gun.

I have the Escort ZR3 shifter, and it does well to jam the guns from the rear. Many people have other opinions of this jammer, but i have yet to receive a fine and i have only been targeted from the rear since installation.

Anyway... What guns do they use in KZN?

    Hey there,

Thanks for the feedback on JHB traps. I do visit JHB about twice a month, but usually in a hire car, so keep to the limit.

I do a lot of mileage in KZN. Have a BMW320d with a Cobra Laser Detector, which has saved me about 15 to 20 times over 4 years and I think in total may have had 2 fines with it in the car.

I also have a new Hilux, but the Cobra cant cope with the big front end. Got a fine when it was only 2 days old. I put a Blinder M40 in 3 months back and have been thru 8 traps since then and jammed all 8 of them.
I have 4 heads in the front, so am very well covered. Here the Leo's either use camera's hidden in the bush, or they use laser from the front, with a manned operation and stop you for the ticket. Most the routes I cover are using laser from the front. Hope they keep it that way!!!

Anyway, stay well and travel safely over Xmas.
    Cheers, Percy-Zn
