    Default Legality issue.....

Ok guys, as I await for the AL6 to be released I started thinking....according to Sethy it's gives all kinds of jam codes. Now, I know it's shocking but the anus state is in the process of making jammers like everything else under the sun ILLEGAL.....

Let's say when one of the IPS asswholes gets a jam code until it shuts down and they stop me what can they do to determine if I have one? Any thoughts? I can just tell them no to a search....

Jammers give some kind of code on the Stalker and the Ultralyte. I've seen it on Blinder Xtreme, Escort ZR3, Lidatek LE30, Antilaser AL6.

Laser jammers have all kinds of codes ie Beam Interrrupted, Target Outside Range or Panning Error etc. I suspect cops see these codes all the time and basically ignore them or dont remember which is which.

The cop manual I have for the 20 20 doesnt even mention jamming codes

Now as these next generation jammers become more common the codes may get a closer look but I'll bet the codes arent accurate enough to pull people over for searches.

Its going to be critical that you slow down and turn off the jammer quickly but thats nothing new for many of us anyway.

    Just my observations todate

Effective Date: 1/1/2006. Here is a reminder from your friends in Illinois.

Sec. 12-613. Possession and use of radar or laser jamming
    devices prohibited.
    (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), a person may not
operate or be in actual physical control of a motor vehicle
while the motor vehicle is equipped with any instrument
designed to interfere with microwaves or lasers at frequencies
used by police radar for the purpose of monitoring vehicular
    speed.
    (b) A person operating a motor vehicle who possesses within
the vehicle a radar or laser jamming device that is contained
in a locked opaque box or similar container, or that is not in
the passenger compartment of the vehicle, and that is not in

the period when needed as evidence. When no longer needed for
evidence, the defendant may petition the court for the return

I love that. Plus the jammers are all built-into the car, so they aren't in the passenger compartment. Only the speaker and LED.

Just buy a hood-mounted tachometer like on Pontiacs from the 60's, put the LED in there and put an old siren from a car alarm instead of the speaker...

What about a decoy? I have an old fuzz buster I could dress up with the words " World's First Real Radar and Laser Jammer". If that doesn't work, maybe a PHAZER II would do the trick. Everyone knows that those are radar and lazer scramblers. I can hear it now on XM. Phazer II, now illegal in 12 states and counting. Let's review. Jammer ticket $50. Phazer II $30. Real ticket $300 plus points.

You know you may be onto something with that decoy idea. I have 2 heads I am no longer using from a m20. Maybe I should mount them on the truck and if I do get stopped I could always hope they fall for that.
