    Default Why JTG performance?

I was driving 45mph in city limits with a 35mph PSL in an area I know is death for speeding over 5mph. The town is small and the main road is max 35mph so they target all cars 5 over the limit. I get an alert from the LI and shut it off just when it said "pro-laser" and spotted the cop no more than 50ft from me on the right hand side. The ambush was less than 300ft when I first got the alert. If your setup isn't JTG, there is a high % that you just got a ticket.
On another note, driving back home through that city using another back road, I didn't have the urge to speed so I went at PSL and BAMMM!!!. I/O at 300ft on a curve at night.
I thought these 2 encounter on the same night was amazing how the city cops targets speeders at such close distance. Almost all my lidar encounter in this city is < 500ft.

He isn't asking a question. He is sharing one of his experiences and why JTG performance is necessary.

Before it was even possibly to have JTG performance back about 4 years ago I didn't get any tickets and my Blinder M20 sucked in testing

But in the real world testing it saved me every time. Methods used by police with laser in New England haven't changed in the past 4 years.

BUT JTG is supposidly necessary I never found it to be but then again i don't speed at a high rate through towns and keep speeding to highways

In the eyes of a cop, I don't think they ever know there being jammed unless someone JTG. I don't think they ever target cars on the side mirror or roof line but target the headlights. No front tag in Florida. Takes me 1 second to get a reading with lidar at headlights and 3-5 on side mirror/roofline. Unless you run into Fritter. He's in his own league. I hope Fritter doesn't start his own school in traffic enforcement.

I don't recall anyone stating that it was necessary. The better your countermeasures the better your odds. That said, few of us own top-of-the-line for each countermeasure though we do tend to encourage overkill versus underkill.

Having extra margins never hurts. For most encounters "good enough" will probably do. Then, every one-in-a-while you run into someone like Fritter (as speed-dreams has already pointed out) or some other situation where conditions aren't ideal and your countermeasures aren't sufficient at all.

Where you draw the line and how much safety room you have is a subjective judgment call. It sounds like your countermeasures are perfectly suited to you. Not everyone drives like you, drives the same car as you, has the same law enforcement to contend with, etc etc etc.
