Do any of you guys run your radar detectors laser mode along with your jammers. I am just finishing up my install on my jammer and I was wondering if they are compatible or should I disable the laser mode in the V1.

the v1 is good to use along side with the jammers what I do is after I slow down and turn them off, I can tell how fast they get a lock on me after I shut it down. And using both lets you know if you are getting hit from behind with laser or from the front, this is especially useful at night because you know where to look for the leo, and if can safely hit the brakes or not (if they are behind you it would be best not too hit the brakes just let off the gas).
Using a RD in laser mode does not interfere with a jammer because it is only detecting it but not transmitting anything.
Lots of members on here use RDs with laser on and I have never heard of any issues. I have been running my V1 with my LPPs over 2 years now and there has never been a problem.
As languy99 said above, having a V1 can be very handy to tell you how long it takes the LEO to get a lock on you after you shut it off and there is always the (albeit slight) possibility that you might get a scatter detection before you are the one targeted also.
A V1 and a good jammer is actually an excellent combo IMO.
I've got a V1 and LI dual setup. The two work great and don't interfere with each other at all.
As others have correctly noted, it's a good way to gauge when the LEO gets a lock after you shut off the jammer, or if he gets a PT.
I've also encountered situations where the LI alerted, but the V1 did not. My V1 is mounted high, and the LEO was close so I guess the laser beam was too tight and aimed low enough so it flew right under the V1.
The reason I leave mine on is that, it's an indicator if you're being targeted after you shut off the LI.
The other side of the coin is, if you do shut off the laser on the V1, you'd probably eliminate almost any chances of false laser alerts.
Personally, I like the V1 philosophy of having a false or 2 and making the decision as if to dismiss it or not.
There have been instances where my V1 has reported a laser false (Infiniti) and the LI did not alert. I have also experienced the reverse of this situation with the LI alerting to Traffipatrol while the V1 remained silent. The latter has only happened once, where as V1 laser false alarms due to other vehicles with laser guided cruise control (combined with no LI falsing) are way more common.
I have also detected scatter from behind twice. In both instances, the LEO was shooting traffic not in my direction of travel so neither would constitute a save.
I really don't think there is anything wrong with leaving laser detection enabled on the V1 while running jammers. I mean, if you get tons of false alarms on laser, that would be one thing and I would advise turning it off. However, you may detect scatter and be able to slow down a bit which means little or no jamming time when/if you are targeted. You can also better distinguish PTs and locks after shutting off the jammers.

does anyone make a laser jammer/detector that doesnt require custom installation ??
There are no effective laser jammers that do not require custom installation. Every RD has laser detection, but detection alone will not be effective defense against police laser. Rocky Mountain Radar makes quite a few radar/laser scramblers that do not require custom installation, but they are a complete sham and have zero effect on police speed measurement equipment.
I run the V1 high on the windshield. This gives me laser (and radar) alerts further away. Despite what some say, the V1 alone has detected laser and made saves. I guess it's from the laser bouncing off of other cars.
I run a dual Lidatek LE-30 down low for closer in protection. If the V1 doesn't alert (nothing's perfect) the LE-30 likely will (if I'm being targeted). And of course by then they're jamming. If the V1 alerts further away I usually just turn the LE-30's off (after monitoring the speedo).
V1 up high, jammer down low. That's the best way to do it, IMHO.
