I've got a 9500ix and just recently installed a ZR4 setup to go with it.
I'm doing a LOT of reading/research here on the site, and can see there's plenty of controversy over the ZR4. Obviously I didn't want to spend my money on mediocre performance. I also believe that the performance of the ZR4 on my particular vehicle should perform well...black, midsized, no chrome, veiled headlights/fogs/plate (well, soon...it's on it's way), not real "flat" anywhere except the plate, and I guess time will tell. It's a black 2006 Monte Carlo SS.
Anyhow, that research has also led me to pricing out an LI Dual and Blinder M27 units...(hmmm)....
Will these live happily together? Unfortunately I'm still under the 15 post limit (working on it as best as I can without being a post whore) so I can't post links to what the front end of a 2006 MCSS looks like, but I can say there are plenty of google images to choose from if you'd be kind enough to check one out.
I have my current ZR4 heads mounted according to the install guide, in the lower grille area which is closer to the Oregon-required front plate than it is to the headlights.
Based on what I've read, it sounds like I'd be best to put the two heads from any additional LJ system in the upper grill area, near the headlights, of course level and squared forward facing.
So, the real question is Can these systems work simultaneously? I don't need to "integrate" the new system, it'll stand alone from the 9500ix/ZR4, but can I do that without one wrecking the other or something like that?
If so, and I decide to spend the extra cash on an LI or a Blinder to supplement what I have, anyone know an installer in or near PDX who'll do a good job for a fair price?
