Hello everyone, and everyone that may be lurking on the forums
So , as you can see from the videos on my other thread. I am getting closer to an actual buildable useable home made unit. it does work but it needs to be tested against all the guns and improvements are on the way. I am shooting for the 50-60.00 range of construction parts. And want to sell kits or sell units outright for under 200.00
Which has spawned a letter from late last night that has me rubbing my chin. I need to thank this person for their honesty.
Quite simply in the letter he has called me "the most dangerous man to lidar countermeasures in years"
His contention is that by building a successful jammer for under 100.00 that every rice racing 16 year old is going to have one , abuse it , and get them banned throughout the country. Or that some Chinese company is going to take the open sourced designs and have them on the market for 49.99 and run all the others out of business like they have everything else (not likely but). he has offered to buy me a full quad system of my choosing if I will NDA my schematics and pull the pictures (and videos) of my work from online.
My original mad scientist side of me was just to document the "can I do it" The possibility of a low cost transponder seemed far fetched. And snickering ensued I am sure. the idea of actually making money off of it did not even occur to me till my first success and I was considering kits. Then people who back my business as an artist were interested and now what do I do?
I feel like Oppenheimer and the bomb. On the one side. Wheeee cheap jammers for sale or build it yourself = money!.. I like money!, But do that and we risk a bunch of kids JTG every cop and in a couple of years its Illegal everywhere.
Give it away under OSC and we see them on late night infomercials and the home shopping channel. not to mention the S Koreans cranking them out.
As it stands now I have already gotten requests not to post any more videos on Youtube. But I will again today to show actual on the road test so people know I am not blowing smoke.
