Default Having a Laser Jammer in a state (OK) that's illegal?

I travel a lot and right now I'm working in a state that it's illegal to have. Now does it matter that I do not live here or what? Am I allowed to have it installed since I don't live here?

    Tell me more?

Depends on the way that's state laws are written so we'll need more detail, but remember speeding is illegal and a moving violation too.

    Yes sir [speeding is illegal!]

Anyways, here's the state in question.

OSCN Found Document:Radar Interference Devices - Advertising, Sale, Manufacture Or Distribution Prohibited - Exemption - Penalties.

How does it work if your just traveling thru the state in which one is illegal? I guess you should check on the law and as stated above it doesn't say whether that applies to out of state person or what.

It also depends on how you use it. Jam then kill (@ PSL ) and you will be fine.

As far as I know, it does not matter if you a resident of the state in question. If you are stopped by an LEO with an illegal jammer or detector, you are subject to whatever penalties are proscribed by statute or regulation.

In OK I believe its only a $200 fine and its a non moving violation. Better to get a non moving violation ticket instead of a speeding ticket. Non-moving violations dont increase insurance premium rates. So its better to get a non-moving violation then a moving one.

    no
    and
    no

nobody, in any State, is allowed to break COP toys
we are allowed to 'arm' ourselves with the ability 'make me aware' that I am being monitored. A radar detector is a good example. So is that gizmo that you'd attach to your phone to let you know it was being tapped.

    Monitoring GOOD, Breaking BAD
there's no grey area; if you make it 'not function properly' you are in violation

The key is 'confuse it' without drawing attention to yourself
Jam for a couple seconds, as you adjust your speed. Power-down the jammer, allowing a speed reading, and continue on. Only You know what has occured. . . . . . Smile and depart

    Should you get a ticket
Don't think for a second that your Auto Insurance Co. won't get this info. $200 is merely the cost of admission
"Counter Measures" is not a good catagory to be in; for a very long time. Your rates will go up faster than they do now and a Speeding Ticket may eventually look cheap

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you switch it off after slowing down. Also so few people have them it wouldn't occur to most cops to look or even think about it.
