Buffalo/GTA Jammerfest results 5/1/2010

Well, it took longer than we expected, but it was an absolutely educational day for all involved. There were some surprises, especially with the ProLaser III, technical difficulties with the LA SpeedLaser (battery died on us early on), however we all learned quite a bit from our respective setups.

Some participants chose not to be shot with either the PL II or PL III due to time constraints, some results are missing due to us being a little tired, but all in all it was a great day!

As promised, here are the results:



Everyone had VEIL on the front of their vehicles, with the exception of dcdave78 and birdman.

We noticed that the heads on raydeee's car were toed out and flush with the curve of his grille, then one of his heads was found to be upside down! As well, after much experimenting (with 2 gloves no less) we determined that one of the BIG reasons we got a high PT with the Ultralyte was the VW logo! After adjusting the heads (straight with the road and not as recessed) on his car PT's were a lot lower.

Wow, who was the shooter? Victor, what do you think caused the big PT (979) on your car against the PL3?

dcdave78, do you have a pic of your install? I normally get JTG against the Stalker LZ-1 on my F-150.

dcdave78 was the shooter against the Stealthmobile with the PL III. I really do not know what happened! Heads were level and straight, about as perfect as I could get! The course was running E-W, perhaps sunlight could have caused it? To be honest, I really am at a loss. You know the front end of my car - totally stealthed out!!! One thing I could possibly think of is that I just recently had the AC condenser replaced. That could have been a source of reflectivity. Again, just a guess.

If I remember dcdave's setup correctly, he had the heads just between the grille and the bumper.

On another note, this afternoon, driving on a 400 series highway, this time in my vehicle with the LI's; I got hit by the OPP with the "white devil", LA. I JTK'd in about 3 secs. He shot me for another 10-15 seconds after I turned off the LI's, and needless to say, it ended well. He didn't look at me funny and I went by without a ticket.

No. Looking at your install, I think your jammer heads are a little low; maybe consider adding Veil on your headlights as well. I think you should move your heads here:
