The bubble is just a lens. The photodiode that actually picks up the signal is about the size of a LED (5mm). The laser diode that does the jamming is about the same size. If the heads are tiny, like the factory parking sensors, more than 2 could be placed in the bumper so each individual head doesn't need to be as sensitive/powerful.
The rest of the head contains the supporting electronics, which could be hidden behind the bumper cover, so only the photodiode sensor and jamming diode are exposed.
