$700 device deflects speed cameras
WA's new digital speed cameras are under threat from a $700 device that can deflect laser radars. The Laser Pro Park, which operates on the same infrared light spectrum as the Vitronic dual-lens speed cameras and is being sold legally in WA, can detect the cameras from several hundred metres.
It then alerts the driver, according to Sean Hettich, owner of Jandakot store Security Gear.
He said that because the device, which is designed as a parking sensor for cars, flooded the front of a vehicle with infrared light, the speed camera's laser bounced back without giving a speed reading.
The guy who talked about the article is owner of dontgetcaught website, not sure if he is on here. He mentions the poliscan and laser park pro on his website and shows a video of it defeating it but from what I have read, the video is not of a Poliscan ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pugYYPZSvFs"]YouTube - Test)[/ame] so seems to be some misleading info.
Then on Wednesday morning they discussed this on ABC radio channel (720am). That has so many errors, a radar detector could allow the new cameras to not be able to read your speed (the new Poliscan are not radar, then are laser and a detector cant jam it...) People called in and talked for /against radar detectors. Anyone listen to this?
Anyone know if any truth about the laser park pro and Poliscan?
