Default Cops using thier laser gun from inside thier car.

If you are shot by a laser gun from inside a cops patrol car does that tend to make their reading less accurate and easier to challenge in court? That is how the cop targeted me. I usually see them outside thier car when using laser.

    Default Not "supposed" to...............

The operators manuals say not to do this. jimBonzzzzzzzzzz mentioned the reasons in another post on this forum..

FWIW i can get targets up to 1100 through the glass (receeding / going away / from behind)

Outside of the car I can get 2100 feet plus AT night.

They say side flat glass is okay.

I'll do a winshield beam pattern study. The accuracy OF TARGETING may be affected, but the windshields usually have coatings on them that decrease the range of the LIDAr reflections back to the gun.

ive tried a few tests with this, I can easily get a reading under 300mtrs thru my front window...somtimes further but takes longer to lock a speed.

Out side the car is further and easier lock on the target.

id say less likely...ive seen alot of local cops here shooting in the rain.. they park side on and roll down the passenger window and shoot accross the car...no glass in the way.

I notice NYS Troopers more often than not use laser in the summer. Haven't heard one Laser alert this winter. In the summer, I always hear Ka when it's raining. Never see them shooting laser in the rain.

yes, the rain drops get in the way, its not likely that a cop will shoot laser when its raining at night

Laser tonight NJ 78 E exit 17. NJST on RHS grass. 30 degF temp. Shooting through left side window glass up. BEL 960 alerted before visual contact. Blue glow on lens of LIDAR unit. I think you get more scatter thus more range when window is up.
