    Default Basic Jammer Questions

    Hi all,

I've been thoroughly reading through the forums about Laser Jammers and I've found alot of info, but it is scattered info.

I have a 2004 Mustang GT that I'd like to install a jammer on, but I'm confused on which brands are the best, and how they need to be installed. It seems like the best current model on the market is the blinder, but I've read alot of people saying to wait until a GOL test scheduled in april, or until some "AL6" product comes out. Should I wait? And what is the AL6?

Also, what are the install parameters for installing a jammer. I'm very mechanically/electrically inclined so doing the install myself won't be a problem, but I'm not sure how the "heads" need to be placed, or how many I need on a mustang with a front plate.

The AL6 is a new product from the Croatian company AntiLaser. They have been in business for years in Europe but this will be their first offering in the USA. Their jammers are similar to the Lidatek LE30 in that it is a laser diode-based unit as opposed to LED based like the Blinder Xtreme and Excort ZR3. The advantage of a laser diode is more power output from a very small package. They claim that a single jammer head is plenty to cover an entire normal-sized car (like your Mustang) and have posted some very impressive videos demonstrating its capability. The only downside is that it will be a bit more expensive, in the $500+ range as opposed to the equivalent Blinder's $350. We ought to know in April if it is better, assuming that the production unit is brought to the US in time for GOL to test.

Is it a definite that the AL6 is coming to the US, and if so, would you feel it is worth waiting for as opposed to the blinder (am I correct in assuming that the Blinder is the best?).

Also, when a laser jammer "jams", is it visible to the LEO (like, does it flash or anything?)

It's IR light, totally invisible. If you are concerned about keeping a low profile the AL6 might be worth waiting for. It will be much easier to conceal.

So is the blinder a relatively bulky device?
