Hi all!
I was wondering, which license plate would be less visible against laser, the type you have the USA (made of metal, with stamped letters/numbers on it) OR the UK/HK plates (retroreflective material, made of plastic)?
The reason I ask is that in HK, we have a choice between the retroreflective type they use in the USA:
USA style plate:
UK/HK style plate:
I can tell you that the HK plates are so reflective, that if you shine a laser beam or light on the plate, and angle it onto the wall, you can see the laser beam or light on the wall as well! I don't have a USA metal plate, but does it do the same (ie. is it also just as reflective)?
Since both styles are legal in HK, i'd obviously get the one that is least reflective... and I think dilip might follow hehe since the laser shield is quite obvious.
Oh, and btw I also made my own laser shield by taking a plastic paper folder (the ones that are thin clear plastic) and just using sand paper to sand it... and it scatters the light too without being too obvious.
All this to help the laser jammer do it's job easier... of course lights can have Veil, but i've found veiling the plates is a bit too obvious.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the metal vs plastic plate! Any comments/ideas welcome!
