    Default 1000$ budget

Hi all, I NEED to invest in laser/radar protection but as with all people have a budget. I have an 05 silver tiburon and want to get the best setup possible for $1000 tops. A lot of people have said the LI plus the STI +R which is almost 2g's and at 20 years old I dont have that kind of money. Any alternatives??

    LI Duals and V1 $959.
    LI Duals and Redline $959.
    LI Duals and 9500ix $959.
The detector you choose is dependent on what you want in a RD. Also, your terrain and environment will play into what is best for you.

If you want, you can save up an extra $500 and get the LI Dual and Sti-R+, which would be a very nice setup.

    Good luck!

I am in the process of reading the differences between the 9500 and the redline. My local install shop wanted me to get the escort zr4 plus the 9500 for 1060$ installed. I am hesitant because I want the LI from what I have read here but now am considering the differences between the 9500 and the redline.

Don't listen to them. You did the right thing by researching yourself. 9500ci is a remote detector like the Sti-R+, but it cannot be segmented in Ka band. The + is a better detector than the 9500ci. Also the shifters that you can add on to the 9500ci are very sensitive to detecting laser, but not that great at jamming it. LI's have proven to be the best laser jammers on the market. Also, there are two different 9500's. The one the installer is talking about is the 9500ci, which is the remote detector. The 9500ix is a windsheild mount detector.

LI Dual and a Valentine 1 and never look back. This is my set up, and it has never failed me.

    /thread.

P.S Don't listen to the shops. They're all a bunch of retards trying to steal your money. And most importantly, do NOT let them install your countermeasures for you. They charge you an arm and a leg for an awful install. You've been warned.

Good idea to buy both at the sametime. I didn't. my 9500ix is a great RD, and it told me exactly when to pull over to get my Lidar ticket. Just purchased the LI duals as they are the best thing on the market from what I have researched. They are running great packages like SaltyinNJ listed out. You can get a great set up for under a Grand.

Unless you only commute in the city with many shopping areas that produce false alarms, go for V1 + LI.

I will be travelling from florida to new york and vise versa about 3-4 times a year. I have been told the redline is the way to go for that, you don't concur?

On that commute, you will be running through VA where radar detectors are illegal and they use Spectre to detect them. This makes the undetectable Redline the correct choice in my opinion.

Do you need jammers? If not I'd get just the sti-r. It's awesome!

If you have to get jammers, look for a cheaper RD (9500ix, redline, etc.) to stay under $1,000.

The difference between the two is the antenna and gps. Redline is more sensitive and 9500ix is quiet. I wouldn't get a V1 now, because they're coming out with a software update soon. The others are also better choices IMO.
