Default Just tested Escort Zr3 Shifter in Pasadena TX

    Hi.
I just got a chance to test my ZR3 jammer against the Pasadena, tx police department.
Laser (Lidar) is new to this city so when I saw the police officer standing outside using a device with a scope attached, I new something was up.

The nice officers were interested in testing their laser gun against my car.

    Car: 1997 Lexus SC300 Black
    Escort 8500 X50
    Escort Zr3 shifter
    (no front plates)

Police Laser: Ultralyte LR (if i read correctly)

Results: The zr3 sucessfully jammed the ultralite completely. I did 4 runs starting about 4000 ft away. I drove 20 mph over the speed limit and drove all the way up to about 10 ft from the laser gun. All times the laser gun was unable to get my speed.

Hope someone finds this info useful, especially those who live in the SE Houston area.

Now were they knowing they were testing your unit, or were you just flying by them at 20 over the limit over and over? Cause the consensus here is that when it tells you youre being lasered you should shut it off and let them get a reading once youve slowed down lest they get wise.

Be careful before you jump to conclusions. I sure as hell wouldn't walk up to a cop and say "hey, wanna test my laser jammer?" but that doesn't mean nobody would. And if I were a cop I highly doubt I'd say no. The primary rule of all warfare is "know your enemy."

ya i don't know if i'd walk up to a leo i don't know and ask if he wants to test that. in fact no body should be doing this because this could lead to the loss of everyone being able to use laser jammers. all it takes is for a few of the higher ups to realize that hey these actually work we should put something into action to prevent the use. so think before you start showing off your technology to the enemy

It's always nice to know that Jammer works, but at the end of the day surely the cops would have, maybe taken down your registration, and maybe stop you whenever you get lasered?
The element of suprise is a good weapon, now the cops won't be suprised anymore when they see your registration mark when you pass after receiving a jammer code.

I knew these cops. I just didnt know they had laser.
I still told them some BS about how you cant buy these jammers and i'm one of the only ones that has it because I knew a guy.

add: Come to think of it, the cop didnt even try to look at my car or see what i had. He had the attitude of "eh, no one knows about that stuff, thats too fancy"

I understand what you're saying fully. I was thinking about that.
But it was really the only way I can surely know if my equipment works in this area.
Also, laser guns are extremely expensive. I'm pretty sure they cant just return the ones they have to buy new ones.

yeah. the other cops didnt seem too worried about it, they were just trying to write more tickets. One cop said "We can adjust the settings on this gun to add more light, it would work then"
I said "yeah probably, thats the thing about this kind of equipment, its not that strong. only works if i'm lucky" (even though it worked every time)
That kind of fed his ego about his laser.

Either way, i was already thinking about what you're saying
On the last run I did deactivate and let them clock me at about 895 ft.
That was after he adjusted his "light setting"
