    Default Linking with 9500i

After linking the 9500i, what happens if I plug my custom Smartcord wiring instead of the ZR4's Mutebutton into the CPU? Is it a RJ-11 4 conductor connection in the same config? Will the power leads fry the unit?

I would not take the chance, but you might just blow a fuse in the in the CPU first.

If things are at all similar to the ZR3, this is how the wiring goes, in terms of ZR3/4 integration:

    http://www.escortradar.com/pdf/Shift...stallGuide.pdf

The ZR3/4 is the powered unit, with the "Interface" box (Component F) being the one that's wired to the chosen power/ground source.

The optional "link" cable (Component G) is then used to power the detector, connecting the Interface to the detector. The detector's SmartCord is eliminated from the circuit, completely.

The ZR3/4's enclosed slim-line "Remote Mute Button" is then used to control both the stand-alone in-car 9500i as well as the stand-alone ZR3/4, now "linked" to the detector.

This is an old picture of mine (please excuse the displaced shift-boot as well as auxiliary gauge, this was a "during install" pic), which clearly shows the ZR3's slimline mute, surface-mounted just below my left/driver's side HVAC control knob:

Below is my setup before integration, where I ran the x50 and ZR3 separately:

Here, you can see the x50's SmartCord, mounted adjacent to the ZR3's separate Remote Mute/mode-control button.

I still wanna know how the ZR3/4 integrates with SR7/X.. specifically can I run SRX ZR3 and ZR4 at same time with link cable

^ I wish I knew this one, too.

Sadly, although I could venture guesses, I do not think it is proper that I do so, since I do not own the SR7/7+/X unit(s), and thus cannot make any true assertions.
