    Default My preliminary ZR4 review...

    Hi everyone,

I'm about to go back outside and finally finish the install of my 9500ci. Yet I have been working on my ZR4 review for the past week and decided that I would post a link to my review which is a work in progress:

MEM-TEK's Review of the Cincinnati Microwave Shifter ZR4 Laser Defense System

As mentioned, this review still is a work in progress. Yet I thought that I would share it with you since I have measured the sizes of all components and noted how long each component's cable is. Additionally I have shown how the ZR4 operates depending on whether or not a RD is attached and depending on whether or not the ZR4, the RD, or both are powered on.

I am very interested in comments from ZR4 owners about any things which so far I have forgot to mention, errors, or things which you think I should mention whether positive or negative. In other words, throw your observations at me so that I can include them in my review. My goal with all of my reviews, regardless of brand or product, is to produce reviews which "hit the nail on the head" so to speak.

Well, back to my 9500ci install now. Maybe I will get it done in another two hours!

Nice pics Mem, a couple of things. say for instance you have the link cable plugged into the control box and not the detector itself then the Zr4 will just operate itself?

Also, notice the display on the Rx65 says LP905, that was the Old Bel version of the Escort ZR3, I figured the newer Bels would have said Zr4 but I guess that was never programmed in.

Yep, the ZR4 will operate itself just fine even if either no RD is hooked up to it or if the RD is turned off.

Apparently "LP905" is hardwired into the Bel models. Before I send the ZR4 back to Escort, I guess I should hook it up to my STi, V995 and 9500i just to see what these RD models display when booting up or in program mode.

I wish that my GF would holler that from time to time.

Thanks! I've been too busy to create a front end for the web site. Right now stuff is merely placed in various subdirectories on the server. I am into vintage stuff. Eventually I want to create a front end which uses the layout which I created for my web site about vintage Tamron brand camera lenses:

    Adaptall-2.com

Spelling Error: 1st Paragraph under 'Introduction'. It says 'Escor' not 'Escort'

Also under: "Performance Summary" You talk about the RX65...

Just a few things to note for the final write up. Great pictures though.

Also I am going to assume the V895 will work too with the ZR4, since it is a Vector model.

Thanks AirMoore. Sometimes I am blind as a bat when proofreading. Guess I need to use the spelling checker tool and search and replace more often! Anyway, I will work on finishing the review during the week when I have time.

Is the 895 the Radioshack version of the 955?
