On my way home from work today travelling on I-290 W, I encountered very heavy traffic (this was about 4:45 pm) coming up on the Colvin Ave. exit. I picked up a brief Ka hit, so I started looking for the source. Sitting in the turn-around area was a NY State Trooper running the Ultralyte 100LR. Estimated rate of speed was around 75 MPH. I was almost bumper to bumper with the car in front of me, then...LASER ALERT! I would guesstimate that the distance from me and the trooper was around 500 feet or less when I was initially hit. He hit me twice, apparently with no luck (I didn't have time to double-tap the MUTE button), and I cruised past him at around 70 MPH. Don't know for sure, but I think I may have scored a JTG (my system had not yet been tested against LIDAR previously, mind you). Regardless, the trooper didn't give chase.
