    Default Qi45

Hello, I recently installed a Escort Qi45 complete with laser shifters. I installed them on a 2008 supercharged corvette. The lasers I put on the grill on each side of the licence plate. The receiver was in the grill but approx 6 inches on the outside of the laser shifter. My question is that when I hammer the throttle down the speaker and digital display goes crazy with warnings (****LASER SHIFTING******). This only happens when I am hitting it with full throttle. Any ideas what is causing this ? Thankyou in advance.

I suspect after doing some reading that it could be the location of my receiver. My laser shifters are on each side of my licence plate but my receiver is about 8 inches behind the grill bolted to my intercooler bracket. I suppose when I get on the throttle mabey the receiver is hitting the laser shifter because the shifter is approx. 8 inches ahead of the receiver. Thoughts? Thanks.

Where are you from? You should probably get your shifters tested. I'm assuming the change in voltage can make the Laser shifting alert go off. Evey once in awhile we get somebody who says their laser alert goes off when hitting the horn.

How did you ground the whole setup? If there is a lot of electrical noise from your engine it may be interfering with the electronics (this and sunlight is typically what causes WOT laser alerts with the Escorts). Take the time to adjust your prackets so that the shifter heads and radar horn are sitting level and on the same axis as the cars axles (i.e. straight ahead) The video attached to Roy's Qi45 install explains this very critical detail. Thanks for the reply. I grounded the system to the battery ground. The one thing that makes me wonder is I had a boost a pump (fuel pump inhancer) installed when I did the supercharger. It only activates and kicks in when I go to WOT. Mabey this is what sets it off. Also wondering if the intercooler airflow is setting it off? Thanks again.
