    Default Three heads on front

I'm going to actually test this next week. Only against a PL2 though.
I was wondering if it would screw up my system with the front and rear heads firing at once? Like would it confuse it my STi-R+. Anyone had thier front and rear heads firing all at once on a 9500ci?

A qualification....Whatever I say here is going to be pure speculation on my part.

I suspect that the front and rear sensors are treated as completely separate systems within the CPU/controller. IF that is true and IF the ZR4 is transmitting a pulse modulated laser beam that is synchronized to some degree with the received laser beam which is pulse modulated (lots of IFs there), it is possible that the front heads may not necesarily be perfectly synchronized with the rear head, and vice versa.

I will be keen to hear the result of your test. Be sure to try it with all heads functional, rear (forward facing) head covered and the front heads covered (rear head functional).

I added a second ZR4 system on my wife's car recently. Four heads on the front and only one head on the rear. I'll be testing it very soon with a variety of laser guns. Should be interesting.

Every test I've ever seen showed that three ZRs is better than two, despite Escort's warning against doing this.

Maybe I'll get really crazy and put all six ZR4 heads (two complete systems) up front. I'm not concerned with trying to protect the rear, until the wife gets nailed from the back one of these days. I don't see that happening anytime soon in the really dense traffic where she normally drives.

I'll know a lot more about this in the very near future. I'm still a novice at this point but soaking up information as fast as I can.

And I'll bet you your LI setup will still do better at our meet. Still, it be interesting to see how six ZR4 jammer heads do. What color is her CR-V BTW?

I'm a bit scared testing my STi-R+ this way because I got hit with two ultralytes at the same time once and it rooted my detector and ended up getting a brand new one on warranty and it took a month.

Both CR-Vs are silver. The majority of the frontal area is a dull black plastic bumper cover. Everything below the headlights is bumper cover. The headlights are huge and highly reflective. I need to get the veil on them NOW! These are 2002 & 2006 models, not the current version.

The wife has a heavier foot than I do and I am a fairly aggressive (not dangerous) driver. I just like to get there and take care of business.

The wife just avoided another laser based ticket a couple of days ago and she is still running on only one ZR4 system (one system is not powered on until I see how two of them do at the meet). I'm really puzzeled that both of us have managed to survive every laser encounter in the past year since the ZR4s are reputed to be "not the best". I just replaced the ZR4 system on my car with the LI dual about a month ago and didn't run across any gendarmes shooting laser yet. Jointly, the wife and I avoided at least half a dozen "for sure" tickets in the past year and probably more like eight or ten. Neither of us tries to keep count.

I really love driving around with the 9500ix and not having to hear alerts so frequent that I start ignoring them. Silence is golden, as they say. I pay attention now when I do get a K or Ka alert.

I'm happy you and your wife have had success with your setups and have not gotten any tickets.

Looking at your car now, it does seem like the majority of it is black which is a good thing. Just out of curiosity, have you or your wife been hit by an "ambush style" laser trap such as this one?
