    Default Applying VEIL: For first-timers

When you get your first container of VEIL, be sure to:

    1.) Don't spill it
2.) Apply it in long, even strokes
3.) Apply it across the headlamp, not top to bottom
4.) I had better results with the flat edged foam applicator than the brush
5.) Don't spill it.
6.) Don't go over the same spot twice, it will be darker (but when applying side to side, you will have some drips--hitting this with your next stroke will be fine).
7.) If you get any on your paint/bumper, go ahead and wipe it off with a cloth
8.) Let it dry for several hours before driving and make sure not rain is forecast for the next 1-2 days.
9.) If applying it directly to a white license plate, it WILL be dark. It will wipe off before it's dry so you can test it out.

    Anything I missed?

I didn't spill any, but my idiot friend spilled his. Don't know HOW he spilled it where he did, but that's beside the point.

Also someone else here did, think it was happya$$ but not sure. :?:

edit: it was happya$$ and my buddy L33T_Hacksta. Check the first page of my "that stuff is dark" thread:

    Default Suggestion

One other suggestion (based upon an experience last week)

If you take your vehicle in for service at a shop that offers "free wash with service" tell them not to remove the VEIL from the headlamps.

This happened last week after I had an oil change with my Harley. The "bike wash kid" spent two hours with soap, water and pad getting the VEIL off. When I got my "sparkling" bike back, he told me of all his hard work. I told him about the VEIL costing $90.00 a pint, but still gave him a $10.00 tip.

You can't blame the kid. For all he knows, its some crud you got on your headlamp that he is trying to get off, not some high tech laser absorbing material

Cudos for giving him a tip for his "hard work" hehe :P

Sethy used a larger sponge than came with the VEIL to get a more even application.
