Do i need to buy a laser sheild

Hey, I am getting veil today and I was wondering if I should apply it to both sides of a clear bubble shaped license plate cover or is it better to buy the laser shield. I would rather not buy the laser shield but if it will be a big difference then I most likely would. Also I have been hearing about a product made by 3m that I should use to clean by headlights with before I apply veil. I was wondering if someone had a link to the product online so I know what I'm looking for when I’m in the store. O and is it something i can find in an automotive store? I want to make sure I get the right product 3M makes a lot of things.
Also is it better to mount my detector (Rx65) high or low on the windshield. I have had it mounted high and that seems to be working pretty well.

Apply veil on both sides of the clear cover. Jim and I tested this a while back, and the veil alone on the plate cover did lasershields job.

thanks, good to know. Also does anyone have any info on that 3M product i should use to clean my headlights?

It's called Perfect-it.

Should be found at a retailer like Pep-boys or Autozone or Checkers.
