Default Who here has Veiled your reflective lic. plates?

I was reading the back of the VEIL container and it states that you can veil the lic. plate. I have seen the posts for those who have tried and didnt have any luck with it on the plate with atleast looks wise. Is there a extra process inorder for the plate not to look dark or atleast just a little bit dirty to cut down of the return from laser?

Don't do it! It'll screw up your plate and look awful. Just get a license plate cover and veil that or use a laser shield.

what if I just veil the raised black letters and numbers and they are black. Would that even make a difference even if the plate was being painted by laser?

Don't put VEIL on your plate I would just go with a Laser Shield...Here are some pictures from a long time ago
    Here are the pics:
1.Plate with no VEIL, and NO plate cover

    2. Plate with no VEIL, with Laser Sheild

    3. Thick coat of VEIL vs NON-Veiled plate(i didn't use the plate cover with plate like that)

    4.Light VEILed Plate vs NON-VEILed

    5. Light VEILed, no plate cover

thanks for the post, rob. Do you think if I only veil the black raised letters (not on the white reflective part) on my europlate do you think that will make a reduce signature from the laser. At 1600ft or so you cant even see the plate and prob. will be aiming center mass anyways.

the black on your plate really isnt that flective as the white so it would be better off on the lighter colors....However you could by two lasersheilds and cut them to cover your front place

I veiled my rear plate and it looks ok. The key is what kind of plate you have. I happen to have a special graphic plate with a blueish background so it works and the difference isn't too noticable. If you have a plate that is heavy white (ie. NY, VA) then it's a much tougher sell. I can try and post pix one of these days but first I need to find my front plate
